My journey to becoming a digital marketer in Zimbabwe

 

Welcome to my Digital Marketing Adventure, my name is Munyaradzi Garry Kaduya. I am 19 years of age and I am a digital marketing enthusiast.

I am self-taught since I was in high school as I really liked learning new things every day. Then, my new found passion in marketing arrived.

After high school, I gave myself a goal that I want to be the best Digital Marketer ever known in Zimbabwe and all over Africa. So, I set out applying for Digital Marketing jobs. Little did I know that actually finding a job without a degree or any approved Zimbabwean certificates was hard. I spent 6 months at home, working on my skills and improving every single day.

Later in 2022, I had my very first client. At that starting point, I was very happy and also very lost in what I needed to do. As it's very much different from what you read on paper to what you face in the world. With my ambitiousness, I was the one who was either going to fail or succeed.

I chose to succeed.

I learned everything I could about digital marketing from online courses, tutorials, and books. I also started networking with other digital marketers and attending industry events.

Over time, I built up my portfolio and started getting more clients. I also started working with agencies and larger companies.

Today, I am a full-time digital marketer and I am passionate about helping businesses grow online.

I am living proof that you don't need a degree or any approved Zimbabwean certificates to become a successful digital marketer. All you need is passion, dedication, and a willingness to learn.
